HISTORICAL REVIEW:

Dr. Víctor Sarabia proudly performed his postgraduate studies in one of the best and most prestigious hospitals in our country, Specialties Hospital "Dr. Bernardo Sepúlveda "of the National Medical Center Siglo XXI.

 

During his training and training as a specialist in the National Medical Center Siglo XXI, Dr. Sarabia faced countless difficult and complicated cases due to his rotation by the CRITICA medicine services (extremely serious patients), such as the Post-Surgical Therapy of the Hospital de Cardiology (post heart transplant patients), Oncology Hospital (patients with Cancer and renal affection), Kidney Transplant Unit (patients with successful transplants), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Hemodialysis Unit (more than 100 patients per day), Clinical Peritoneal Dialysis etc; acquiring a wide experience and medical-surgical skills for the prevention, timely detection, management and rehabilitation of kidney diseases (Renal Insufficiency).

 

In 2011, he completed his training, receiving the recognition and university diploma from the maximum house of studies, the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

 

 

That same year he received recognition and certification by the Mexican Council of Nephrology A. C. for demonstrating his high competence, preparation and ability to practice the specialty in any part of the country.

 

In 2011, he arrived in Cancún Quintana Roo, and was invited to participate in the Specialty Hospital of IMSS # 17 in the same city to provide his services as a health professional in the area of ​​nephrology, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and also to participate in the training and training of Resident Doctors of Internal Medicine.

 

 

Due to his wide experience, he has been invited by different medical colleges, and related universities (ANAHUAC), to participate as a SPEAKER in different national, regional and local conferences.

 

He is a member of different medical and international associations, national and regional as well as International Society of Nephrology (ISN), Latin American Society of Nephrology and Hypertension (SLANH), College of Nephrologists of Mexico A. C, Peninsular Society of Nephrology, etc.

 

 

He was the first Nephrologist to propose and bring to Cancun Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) or PRISMA therapy, for the benefit and management of critical patients with hemodialysis needs due to severe renal failure in the Intensive Care Units (ICU).

 

In 2016, he received the renewal of the Certification issued by the Mexican Board of Nephrology A. C. for endorsing keeping up-to-date and competent for the exercise of the specialty.

 

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Sarabia has had a great professional performance and has been known to gain the recognition of all his patients with very favorable results that are reflected in the quality of life.

Information

NEPHROLOGY CONSULTATION:

Prevention measures, timely detection, control of progression factors, nephroprotection measures, treatment and rehabilitation of the patient with Renal Insufficiency.


 

HEMODIALYSIS:
It is a treatment that consists of washing the blood, eliminating excesses of toxins and liquids. This is achieved thanks to a special filter helped by a machine known as artificial kidney.

 

PERITONEAL DIALYSIS:
It is a process by which waste and excess fluid are extracted from the blood of the patient with renal failure. This is achieved thanks to the exchange of a special liquid that is introduced into the abdominal cavity.

KIDNEY TRANSPLANT:
Surgical act that consists of transferring and implanting a healthy kidney (obtained from a donor) to the body of a person who has complete renal functional damage (chronic renal failure) and without the possibility of recovering it.
For this type of procedure, a series of extensive studies is required both for the kidney patient and for the person who will donate it.

 

IMPLEMENTATION OF CATETER FOR HEMODIALYSIS:
Surgical procedure through which a catheter (hose) is inserted or implanted inside a vein in the neck and through which blood is drawn to the hemodialysis machine for cleaning.

RENAL BIOPSY:
procedure that consists of extracting a fragment of renal tissue through a special needle puncture, biopsy guided with ultrasound in real time (percutaneous technique).
This study is considered as the ideal, for confirmation, prognosis and even to determine treatments of very rare diseases that attack the kidneys.
It is usually ambulatory and does not require hospitalization.

FISTULA FOR HEMODIALYSIS:
Surgical procedure that consists of the union of two blood vessels (a vein and an artery) in the forearm, resulting in the development of a larger caliber vein where by special needle puncture the blood is drawn to the hemodialysis machine for its cleaning.
Here the joint participation of the Nephrologist and Vascular Surgeon (angiologist) is important.

RENAL INSUFFICIENCY:
Functional disorder characterized by the total or partial arrest of the function of the kidneys, and consequently will bring a series of disorders or decompensations that can compromise the patient's life.
